I did a talk about photography to a group of writers at the DFW Writers Conference last weekend. One of the points I try to hit whenever I speak about photography is that the best camera is the one you have on you, and sometimes that's the camera in your phone. While in Cuba with a group led by Fort Worth Sister Cities, International, I made this hasty capture. A few of us were leaving our hotel and crossing over to walk on the prado that leads to the malecón, and happened to see this couple. While we managed to grab a few shots of the couple as they approached, it was interesting to see how the car seemed to become an extension of her dress as we watched them drive away.
iPhone photo files, while not as large or crisp as my Canon 5dIII, are so good that I included this as part of a package that will be running in a local magazine in a couple of weeks. I'm starting to do that more--submit the occasional iPhone photo as part of a package. When I had a show in Southlake, Texas, last fall, two of the prints were iPhone photos. I loved how they turned out.
